The parts of Violin 1, Violin 2 and Violoncello 2 correspond to the original parts of the 1st and 2nd violin as well as the basso continuo of the Mass. The remaining five String parts represent the 5 singing parts (soprano 1 and 2, alto, tenor and bass) in original pitch. Their slurs (including dashed bows) also correspond to the original pitch. The original voices and, if necessary, must be adapted to the requirements of the string instruments.
The part of the Violoncello 2 can - similar to the performance practice of the Mass - be amplified by a double bass.
